History’s greatest mind

Doing Da Vinci airs at 9 pm on January 8 on Discovery Channel. A team of four builders and engineers take on one of history’s greatest minds as they try to build Leonardo Da Vinci’s never-before-seen-constructed inventions using only materials available in Da Vinci’s own time.

In this episode of Doing Da Vinci, the crew attempts to recreate a giant catapult and soon discovers manufacturing the bow that powers the device is more complicated than expected. As the pressure builds, personalities clash and problems ensure while testing the machine.

Po’s dreams come true when he gets an opportunity to learn the art of kung fu alongside his idols, the legendary Furious Five — Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey — and guru, Master Shifu.

Before they know it, it’s up to Po to defend everyone from a treacherous villain. But can he really become a kung fu master? Po puts his heart and girth into the task, and the unlikely hero finds his greatest weaknesses turn out to be his greatest strengths. 

Venturing into theatre

After scripting a success story in TV world as a producer, Sunjoy Waddhwa, who is an eminent personality of television industry today, is venturing into theatre with his first Hindi play, Ek Tu Aur Ek Mein being staged on January 10 in Mumbai.

After producing many successful television serials like Saat Phere and Balika Vadhu and telefilms like Unn Hazaroon Ke Naam and Phir Se, the multi-tasking Sunjoy has now decided to go beyond TV world.

According to Sunjoy, “It’s my New Year gift to the theatre audiences. I always wanted to be associated with theatre as I feel real talent lies there. Artistes doing theatre put their heart and soul into everything, which comes across brilliantly in their performances. I am sure there is always a great audience, looking forward to watching new plays.”

Ek Tu Aur Ek Mein revolves around Pramod Joshi, an unsuccessful criminal and B P Shrivastava, a lawyer. The criminal, a gentle tea vendor, is on remand for the murder of his wife and the lawyer, an elderly, disappointed man has received his first case after waiting for 20 years.
