Kerala Net users sending real money to mock Finance Minister Mani

Young filmmaker Aashiq Abu, little did he know that he would create a new rage among the Internet users by making an online post mocking Kerala Finance Minister KM Mani.

Mani is facing the charges of taking bribe to the tune of Rs 2 crore from the bar owners in order to re-open some of the closed bars in wake of Kerala's liquor policy, which is formulated to check alcohol consumption.

On Tuesday, Aashiq Bbu Bbu sarcastically sought everyone to donate Rs 500 and help Finance Minister Mani to increase his fortune by some more crores as he is struggling to meet his basic needs. And he created an hashtag #‎entevaka500 (here's my 500 rupees).

Since then, the Keralites from around the world have been sending money-orders to the minister’s address at Pala in Kottayam district. The response is so overwhelming that the piling money order invoices have reportedly baffled post office officials.

However, there is no word from Mani yet on the one-of-its-kind online campaign.

In no time, 'Entevaka500' Facebook page was created and has been liked by close to 8000 people.

People who sent their donations ranging from Rs 10 to Rs 500 have posted the photos of acknowledgements of their money orders. The page is now filled with memes, cartoons and posts lampooning the minister over his possible involvement in the bar bribe scam.
