30 sheep die mysteriously

The sudden death of 30 sheep, belonging to 12 farmers, at Yanagumba village, under Haradanahalli hobli in Chamarajanagar taluk, recently, has caused anxiety among the farming community.

A team of veterinarians and Dr S D S Khadri, Assistant Director of State Sheep and Wool Development Corporation visited Yanagumba on Wednesday, to take stock of the situation. The sheep are said to have died on their way back to the village in the evening on January 17.

In a press release, the State Sheep and Wool Development Corporation has stated that post-mortem has been conducted on the sheep and viscera has been sent to the Institute of Animal Health and Veterinary Biological Institute for testing.
