Vanya Darshana plan for students soon

Forest department is planning to introduce ‘Chinnara Vanya Darshana’ for high schools students of selected 100 taluks from next academic year, District-in-Charge Minister Ramanath Rai said.

Speaking after unfurling National Flag at the 66th Republic Day celebrations at Nehru Maidan, on Monday, he said the new programme will give children an opportunity to learn more about the flora and fauna and also help to create awareness on nature.  

The minister said the government will now promote bathrooms for rural households.

The government will provide Rs 20,000 as unit cost for construction of bathrooms under ‘Gaurava Yojana’ for houses that do not have bathrooms. The State Cabinet has already approved the scheme and it will be implemented shortly.

He said the district has received 45,759 applications from those poor who have constructed house illegally on government land, seeking regulation of land under Akrama Sakrama scheme.

Tahsildar will be empowered to look dispose the applications. The applications will be processed shortly.

Under ‘Namma grama namma raste’ project, in every Assembly constituency, 20-km road will be developed during the year.  

In march-past competition, NCC Naval Wing (Ssenior) led by Guruprasad Rao won the first prize, NCC Air Force Wing (Junior) led by Rahul N N second prize.

District-level Sarvothama Seva Prashasti was conferred on six officials.

Prizes were distributed to Preksha, Jasmitha D, Manushreyas C H, Vimarsha Kochi, P Chethan, Prasanna, Ashwini K, Nishmita, Neha U K, M B Sachin, winners of essay and painting competition organised by Department of Public Instruction on Aadhaar.
