No room for 'Ghar Wapsi' in country: Rajnath

Last Updated 02 February 2015, 18:24 IST

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday that there was no room for activities like ‘Ghar Wapsi’ - ‘reconversion’ of people belonging to minority communities to Hinduism - in the country.

He was speaking to reporters at the residence of G M Siddeshwara, union minister of state for heavy industries, at Bheemasamudra in the taluk.

The BJP supported secular principles, Singh said, adding that the Centre would take all steps to prevent efforts to divide the country on the basis of religion.

The home minister expressed confidence that the BJP would win the maximum number of seats in the upcoming elections to the Delhi Assembly.
