The Cubbon Park police on Thursday arrested a youth for making nuisance calls to the police control room.

Solomon, 20, a jobless man from Madanayakanahalli on Tumakuru Road, would make random calls to the control room and make obscene comments, especially when women attended the phone, police said.

A woman staffer from the control room had complained of receiving such nuisance calls from the past two days. Solomon was arrested after the police tracked him down using his mobile number.

“Despite issuing several warnings, some miscreants misuse the control room numbers and make such nuisance calls for fun. The control room is for the public to use during an emergency. Those making such calls will be punished as per law,” said a senior officer.
