Sisodia may be Delhi deputy CM

A new post of deputy chief minister is likely to be created by Arvind Kejriwal for his confidant Manish Sisodia who served as education minister in the previous AAP government in Delhi.

Sources also said that there is a strong buzz that after taking over as chief minister, Kejriwal may appoint two retired bureaucrats as advisors to tone up the administration. One of the retired bureaucrats is likely to be from the Union Territory cadre and the other from Haryana cadre, said sources.

Sources in the AAP said Kejriwal may be required to travel a lot to spread the party’s message to other parts of the country and Sisodia as the deputy chief minister would hold the fort in his absence in the city.

Ram Niwas Goel could be the Speaker while AAP women’s wing chief Bandana Kumari may get the post of Deputy Speaker.

Sisodia has refused to comment on the speculation. He said a list of cabinet ministers has been sent to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung and after his approval the details will come in the public domain before the swearing in ceremony on Saturday. Sisodia had handled education, urban development, public works department, land and buildings portfolios in the previous government.

Names of other probable cabinet ministers, whose names are doing the rounds include Jarnail Singh from Rajouri Garden and Adarsh Shastri from Dwarka.
