Simons to take over as bowling coach

“Simons is expected to join the team before the first Test in Chittagong. However, no interaction with him and the team has taken place,” a team India source said on Saturday.
The terms or duration of Simons’ contract are not known. Former South African pacer Allan Donald was tipped to join the team as bowling coach after skipper MS Dhoni stated the bowlers were missing the services of a specialist coach.

It was reported that BCCI officials had met him and discussed the matter. However, it is learnt that coach Gary Kirsten wanted to have Simons on board.

India have been without a bowling and fielding coach since Venkatesh Prasad and Robin Singh were unceremoniously sacked ahead of the home one-day series against Australia.
