Former Union minister S M Krishna said, everyone should join hands for the overall development of Mandya district.
Addressing a gathering, after inaugurating the platinum jubilee celebrations of the formation of Mandya district, at Sir M Visvesvaraya Stadium, here, on Friday, he said, many talented persons from the district have achieved international level name and fame in the fields of literature, judiciary and culture. Such persons should achieve in their respective fields and bring glory to the district, he said.
Pramodadevi Wadiyar, wife of the late royal scion Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar wished many more achievements for the district.
Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy used the opportunity to speak in favour of the farmers and sought scientific price for their crops.
Adichunchanagiri seer Nirmalanandanatha Swami, Pejawar seer Vishweshathirtha Swami, District in-charge Minister Ambarish and others were present.
Pramodadevi Wadiyar, who attended the programme, lost balance while getting down and slipped, drawing attention from all sides. However, the police personnel rushed to her rescue.
