R'than amends Victim Compensation Scheme

In a marathon meeting of state Cabinet, Chief Minister Vasundahra Raje gave approval to amendment of Victim Compensation Scheme, 2011.

Following the amendment the compensation amount given to a rape victim will be revised from Rs 2 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. For victims of POCSO Act the compensation amount will increase from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh and for victim of acid attack, the proposed revision of compensation is from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.

The state Cabinet also gave its nod to much awaited Rajasthan Heritage Conservation Bill-2014, Rajasthan Apartments Ownership Bill-2014 and Special Economic Zone Bill, 2015. All the three bills will be tabled in state Assembly starting from February 25.

Under Special Economic Zone Bill, 2015 a state approval committee would be constituted in the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary. The SEZ regions would be given 100 percent exemption from VAT, stamp duty and power tariff.

Parliamentary affairs minister Rajendra Rathore said that as per the draft of Rajasthan Heritage Conservation Bill 2014, state heritage council would be constituted in the chairmanship of the chief minister for conservation, regulation and maintenance of heritage structures of historical and archeological importance.


Rajasthan will become apparently the first state in the country to have Apartment Ownership Bill 2014. The bill contains several clauses in the interest of the apartment owner and save them from ill market practices and trends.

Declaration of the complete details of land, building construction and other information by the apartment developer before a competent authority had been made compulsory.


Under the bill, the developers will be bound to hand over the possession of the property in the prescribed time.
