Six govt officials in Lokayukta net for amassing illegal wealth

The Lokayukta police on Thursday raided six government officials for possessing assets disproportionate to their known sources of income. The simultaneous raids were conducted on 20 premises in Mysuru, Bengaluru, Kalaburagi and Bidar districts.

The officials raided are: Account Superintendent at Bangalore Development Authority, M G Srinivasamurthy;Range Forest Officer at Joint Director of Agriculture office in Bidar, Shashikanth H; Medical Officer at TN Pura, Mysuru, Dr N Karunakar; Assistant Executive Engineer Kalaburagi City Corporation, Mohammad Haji; Project Director at Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mysuru, D B Linagannaiah and Office Manager at Mysore City Corporation, S Parvathamma.

The officials said Srinivasmurthy owned a site and a duplex house in Nandini Layout (Rs 1.16 crore), commercial complex with residential houses at Nandini Layout (Rs 20 lakh) and a site in Nandini Layout (Rs 20 lakh).

The official possessed immovable properties worth Rs 1.58 crore and movable assets worth Rs 71 lakh, including cash at banks (Rs 28 lakh), cash found at house (Rs 8 lakh), a car and gold jewellery (Rs 23 lakh).

RFO’s assets

Range Forest Officer Shashikanth owns a site and house in Bidar (Rs 46 lakh), a farmhouse (Rs 40 lakh) and lands in and around Bidar (Rs 20 lakh). The official possessed immovable properties worth Rs 1.06 crore and movable assets worth Rs 23 lakh, including a Nissan Terrano car (Rs 12 lakh).

Medical Officer Dr Karunakar owns a nursing home at Bannimantap, Mysuru (Rs 50 lakh), two houses at Bannimantap (Rs 99 lakh), three plots in and around Mysuru (Rs 26 lakh), one acre and 18 guntas of land in Lingavvanahalli (Rs 75 lakh) and a flat at DamDon City Square (Rs 23 lakh).

The medical officer possessed  immovable properties worth Rs 2.73 crore and movable assets worth Rs 90 lakh, including two cars, an ambulance (Rs 16 lakh), equipment at his nursing home (Rs 56 lakh) and gold and silver (Rs 10 lakh).

Mohammad Haji owns assets worth Rs 30 lakh. Similarly, D B Linagannaiah owns a house in Mysuru (Rs 55 lakh), four sites in and around Mysuru and Mandya (Rs 16 lakh).
The official owns immovable properties worth Rs 72 lakh and movable assets worth Rs 18 lakh.

Office Manager Parvathamma owns nine sites in and around Mysuru  (Rs 1.34 crore). The official owns movable assets worth Rs 28 lakh, including gold (Rs 14 lakh) and cash (Rs 22,561).
