Cool colours for the season

The Spring Summer 15 collection of Marks & Spencer represents a journey of style and blends the classic look with a  refined and confident one. It has a lot to offer for both men and women.

Simplicity defines the tone of the women’s collection. “‘Into The Blue’ elevates the casual; denim and enriched blues and has a fresh and feminine look while ‘Uniformity’ is meant for the confident and refined with a sleek utility edge,” says a representative from the design team.

The ‘Summer of Love’ consists of a fusion of relaxed tailoring and subtle florals with a retro feel. Those women who like a touch of East in their fashion, can opt for ‘The Orient’ which has modern silhouettes with ornamental prints while ‘Modern Romance’ is a romantic narrative as heavy lace meets sheers.

For the men, the collection has a combination of formal and casual pieces styled together to create a relaxed look.

New departments have been designed to focus on how men shop for key items and wardrobe staples. Improved visual merchandising and simplified displays clearly communicate fits, cuts, styles and outfit solutions.

“‘Casualwear’ smartens up with modern interpretations on classic pieces, with a focus on clean lines, fine summer fabrics and masculine iconic styles, worn in a new tonal colour palette. Clean and simple T-shirts are styled with coloured footwear to create this new look for the season. Blue is the key colour reference ranging from intense navy and midnight blues to paler denim and chambray tones. Denim is the key to the look, and jeans are available in improved fits,” adds the representative.

‘Autograph’ uses sharp and simple lines to create a sophisticated formal wear collection while ‘Blue Harbour’ uses red, white and blue graphic stripes and checks.

The nautical trend continues into summer with the introduction of a fresh pastel colour palette. The ‘North Coast’ brand focusses heavily on the indigo and washed signature colour palette.

‘M&S Collection’ for men showcases the broadest tailoring collection on the high street, while the ‘Best of British’ range continues into summer with an optimistic use of colour combined with sharp tailored linen suits.
