Fusion band Dhwani performs songs for sheer entertainment. They focus on music for the young. The band members blend all kinds of instruments to music of a different kind. The band has four vocalists — Yamini, Nikil, Pavan and Tejaswini. “We perform fusion music, inspired from Bollywood. We try out different themes that personify human emotions effectively. We try both Indian and Western style in fusion. These days we are putting a lot of effort in strengthening our group and hone our talents to compete at the VTU Fest,” says Yamini, a third year student of computer science and student co-ordinator of music club. Rock band Over Black is initiated by Uddeepan, who is extremely passionate about music. Barely started eight months ago, Uddeepan and his band of friends have bagged several prizes at college fests. “We are a death metal band and perform our own compositions. We are able to play all kinds of guitars from bass, acoustic, electric and classical guitars,” says Uddeepan.

The college has built a music room exclusively for music lovers. It has all the instruments and is one among the best in acoustics. “We are grateful to our college management for providing such a wonderful building. We use this space to exchange our ideas, compose music and practice. After the class hours, we head straight to the music room. It’s like our second home,” says Tejaswini, a member of Dhwani.'
