The BJP has drafted in seven ministers to assist its preparations in poll-bound states, indicating that it relies on them in the absence of experienced hands.
While Power Minister Piyush Goyel will assist the party in Tamil Nadu, Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will be trusted with party affairs in West Bengal.
Ministers for Parliamentary Affairs Rajiv Pratap Rudy and Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan will assist the party in Kerala and Assam respectively.
The decision to involve the ministers follows the BJP’s renewed focus in these states, as the party leadership plans to expand its base across the country ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
