33,240 students in dist to appear for II PU exams

Prohibitory orders will be in place around all centres

A total of 33,240 students will appear for second PUC examinations, to be held from March 12 to 27. The exams will be held in 47 centres spread across the district, said Deputy Director of PU Education, K M Puttu.

Of the number of students enrolled, 4,023 candidates will be repeating the examinations and 1,529 candidates have enrolled privately. Among the candidates, 16,664 are female and 16,576 are male.

Maximum number of students in the district will be taking up exams in the Arts stream, with 12,539 students, followed by Commerce - 10,852 students, and Science - 9,849 students.

He said that all necessary arrangements have been made for the examinations in the district. “Superintendents have been appointed for all examination centres. Taluk level officials too will ensure the required facilities for the smooth conduct of the exam.

Inspection squads have also been formed to check malpractice,” he said. Prohibitory orders will be in place, at a distance of 200 meters around examination centres. Police security has also been provided, he said.

Most of the 47 centres have been set up in Mysuru taluk, with 25 centres. Five centres in T Narsipur taluk, four centres each in Nanjangud and Hunsur taluks, and three centres each in H D Kote, Periyapatna and K R Nagar taluks have been set up for the exams.

Hassan
A total of 17,894 students will appear for the examinations in Hassan, to be held at 37 centres of the district. Of the students, 9,820 are girls and 8,074 are boys.

While 14,921 students are appearing for the exams for the first time, 1,945 are repeaters and 1,028 are attempting exams privately. Among the students, 8,070 will appear under Arts stream, 5,625 in Commerce and 4,199 in Science.

Chamarajanagar
In Chamarajanagar, 7,583 students are appearing for the exams including 3,820 boys and 3,763 girls at 16 examination centres.

Of the centers, four are in Chamarajanagar taluk, five in Kollegal, three in Gundlupet  and two each in Hanur and Yalandur taluks.

The number of students appearing under Arts stream is 3,837; Commerce- 2,338 and Science-1,408. 

Mandya
In Mandya, 16,111 students are appearing for the exams, out of which 8,753 are girls and 7,358 are boys.
