JOIN USCorporation Bank Chairman & Managing Director S R Bansal announced two new services - CORP Saral Plus-NRE and CORP Tab Banking on the occasion of 110th Foundation Day celebrations here on Thursday.
He said CORP Saral Plus-NRE is a savings account for NRIs with personal accidental death insurance cover of Rs 5 lakh. In Tab banking, bank officer visits customer’s place, scans the documents on the tablet and account will be opened instantly. The bank has also announced opening of 40 new branches, 59 ATMs and 11 e-lobbies soon.
Bansal said Corporation Bank is the first bank to achieve target under Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) in the country. It has opened 20.17 lakh accounts and mobilised 3.40 lakh accounts. Bank has least number of zero balance accounts compared to others, he said.
The RPC Layout (Bengaluru) branch Senior Manager Gopal Vittal Rao Patil was felicitated for the top performance in PMJDY.
Bansal added that the bank will continue promoting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and agriculture. In last one month, around Rs 1,500 crore has been added to savings account of the bank. CASA is in increasing mode, he said.
The bank honoured top performing employees in the area of account opening, bank assurance and delivery channels.
As a part of CSR activity, computers were given to St Jockins Higher Primary School, Dakshina Kannada ZP Higher Primary School Bokkapatna and Agrahara Church Aided Higher Primary School.
