JOIN US IT-BT Minister S R Patil on Thursday expressed his willingness to shoulder the responsibility to head the state unit of the Congress party, if given an opportunity.
“I am a loyal soldier of the Congress party. Wherever the party leadership asks me to work, I shall work. If they ask me to take charge of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee,, I shall do so,” he said.
On the other hand, Water Resources Minister M B Patil said that he was not ready to take on the mantle of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, even if asked by the party.
“If offered, I will consider the option after discussing with the chief minister and other senior leaders in the State,” he said.
Both were reacting to the reports that the Congress was looking at candidates from within the government, especially from north Karnataka, to replace G Parameshwara, whose tenure expires in June 2015.
