MOM: NIE alumni feted

Three alumnus of the National Institute of Engineering (NIE), who had contributed to the success of Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) were felicitated, in Mysuru, on Saturday.

R Shashishekar, Deputy Project Director (Propulsion), H S Venkatesh, Group Director (Propulsion) and R Narayan, Group Director (Systems Reliability) were feted during the valedictory of techNIEks, a techno-cultural programme, organised by the NIE Students Association.

Speaking at the programme, R Shashishekar delved on the benefits of MOM and the growth of space technology in the country.

H S Venkatesh went down memory lane and recalled how he was ragged by seniors, when studying at the college.

R Narayan informed that more than 20 students of NIE were employed by Isro in various capacities.
