After undergoing a ten-day treatment at Jindal Naturecure Institute in the City, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal returned to Delhi on Monday.

Cured of his cough and with diabetes under control, Kejriwal looked energetic as he came out of the institute after being discharged at 3 pm. His parents Gobind Ram and Gita Devi who were here for treatment also accompanied him back to Delhi.

Kejriwal left for the airport in a private vehicle along with State leader Prithvi Reddy and took an evening flight to Delhi. A small group of supporters who were present near the Institute greeted and garlanded him.

Kejriwal told the media that he was feeling ‘fresh and fit’ and was excited to return home by late evening. Minutes after he was discharged, Kejriwal took to social media to express gratitude to the hospital staff and doctors. “Grateful 2 Jindal institute, its docs, staff. Congratulations 2 Sitaramji for setting up such a wonderful institute n running it so well. Cough gone, sugar under control. Feeling fresh n fit. Am excited to return to resume work,” he tweeted.

Doctors said even as Kejriwal showed remarkable improvement post treatment, for the effect to last, he ought to follow strict diet and stick to the regimen prescribed, said doctors at the Institute.

Dr Thampi, one of the doctors treating him, said he must refrain from consuming aerated drinks. Even on the last day of his treatment, Kejriwal took yoga sessions and underwent detoxification.

Doctors at the institute said he has to stick to his diet. Besides, they explained that in a hectic schedule like his, adequate rest and timely sleep is very important in his case.

Dr Babina Nandakumar, Chief medical officer, Jindal Naturecure Institute said: “We have brought down his medication to 30 per cent of what he would take earlier. Had he stayed here for yet another week, we could have stopped it completely. However, due to various other commitments, he had to head back. He will have to still stick to naturopathy and be on diet and packs. Also, he must continue Yogic Kriyas.”
