Special cell to pressurise Union govt

 
The cell will have both technical and administrative staff. They will also ensure proper co-ordination between the State and the Centre on all matters. Water Resources Minister Basavaraj Bommai told reporters on Tuesday that the cell will be set up in a week’s time.

He said farmers in the State have not paid beneficiary contribution amount towards construction of the field channels (small channels to supply water from the main channel to agriculture fields). The beneficiary farmers should pay 10 per cent of the project cost. So, the Government has now decided to bear this cost also, he added.
