Indefinite stir against elephant menace

The indefinite protest by AITUC and members of Budakattu Krishikara Sangha continued on Wednesday as well. They have been protesting demanding the effective implementation of Forest Rights Act, and measures to check wild elephant menace.

The protesters said that wild elephant menace continue to haunt the residents. The government should chalk out a scientific methods to control the menace.

The farmers who lose crops following elephant menace should be given Rs 25 lakh per acre.
The protesters also demanded the effective implementation of Forest Rights Act and basic facilities to tribal colonies.
