JOIN USBollywood actors Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Farhan Akhtar were among a galaxy of celebrities that came together on one platform to discuss the controversial Development Plan (DP) of Mumbai. The meeting was convened by Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray.
Farhan’s father Javed Akhtar and Salman’s father Salim Khan, who had paired together to give several hits including mega blockbuster Sholay, too joined the forum besides Ritiesh Deshmukh, the son of former chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. Thackeray has been opposing the DP-2034 to be implemented in the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai.
Earlier this month, as his party turned 10, Thackeray announced his opposition to the DP saying that it is against the interest of Marathi manoos and Mumbai. “We would not allow it to happen,” he had said.
“The DP has lot of loopholes and it needs to be scrapped,” said P K Das, a prominent architect and activist.
