District-level Kannada Sahitya Sammelana from February 8

Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat president N Venkobarao said that 100 delegates will be sent to the meet from each taluk. Speaking at an executive meeting of the Parishat here, he said, select poets and writers from the taluk will present their works during the meet. As the government has not sanctioned the grant the taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat literary meet has been postponed, he added.

He called upon the members of the Parishat to strive for the success of the district literary meet. Those who are interested in participating in the meet have to pay an entry fee of Rs 100 and they will be provided food and accommodation and also a memento.

The number of taluks have come down following birufcation of the Kolar district. This in turn has increased the proximity and interaction between people. All the Kannadigas, including those in the border areas, should participate in the programme in more number and make it a success, he appealed.

Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat senior member H Satyanarayanashetty, Champalli Chandrashekharaiah, T K Prabhakar, R Ravikumar, Narayanaswamy and Laxman Kumar  and others were present on the occasion.
