KSHRC tells Home to look into complaint against OMC

 In an order dated January 11 Commission Chairperson Justice S R Nayak stated, “There is no abatement in the number of such instances and on the other hand, they are on the rise. The State Home Department cannot be a silent spectator to the wrong-doings in Bellary district by its officers, particularly police officers.”
He has directed that copies of the complaint be sent to the Principal Secretary to the State Department of Home, Inspector General of Police, Eastern Range, Davanagere, Superintendent of Police, Bellary district, Deputy superintendent of Police, Circle Inspector of Police and Range Forest Officer, Bellary.

Submit report in 10 days
The officials have been directed to submit their responses to the complaint and report within 10 days from the date of receipt of notice. Further, Ashok Ghori, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bellary, Bhaskar Rai, Circle Inspector of Police, Bellary and Venkatesh, Range Forest Officer, Bellary have been directed to appear in person before the Commission at 11 am on February 3, 2010 for enquiry and hearing.

Overhaul police unit
Meanwhile, the Principal Secretary to Department of Home and the Superintendent of Police, Bellary District, has been asked to take “every step and measure to overhaul police unit in Bellary district and to ensure the safety and security of S K Modi, the Managing Director of the complainant company, and to submit action taken report to the Commission”, an order of the Commission stated.
