Free medicines given to 453 people

Speaking after inaugurating the camp Gram Panchayat President L Srinivasreddy said, the healthy rural society is valuable resource of the country. He rued that the rural folk don’t pay attention to health care due to their ignorance and poverty. He said a healthy human being is an asset of the nation, he added.

He commended contribution of Devaraj Urs Hospital and Research Institute in creating awareness on hygiene and health care among the villagers. Dr Shashikala of the hospital said the programme will be successful if the majority of the villagers benefit from it.

Specialists of all the departments treated 453 villagers and distributed medicine free of cost during the camp. Those who required further treatment were shifted to the Kolar hospital.
