BSY to meet PM, State MPs in Delhi

Newly appointed State Representative V Dhannanjay Kumar told reporters here on Tuesday that Yeddyurappa may also call on members of the Union ministry from Karnataka.

Kumar expressed happiness over the appointment of S M Krishna and M Veerappa Moily as cabinet ministers, and hoped that it would greatly benefit Karnataka. The BJP leader met both ministers to wish them on behalf of the state government.

Kumar said he would actively involve in getting Central projects for Karnataka. He  he requested the two ministers to take up the state's case whenever possible. Both have reported to have promised partnership with the state to develop Karnataka. Kumar said the chief minister had already spoken to the two ministers.

According to him, the state was to get projects and its share of revenue worth Rs 12,700 crore during 2008-09. There are said to be some outstanding issues between the state and Central governments in forwarding utilisation certifications from various state departments to the Centre.

Kumar said priority will be given to regular supply of food grains through public distribution system and implementation of drinking water projects in the state. He said procuring fertiliser will also be given priority, in view of early monsoon.
