Vigilance committees sought for fair price shops

The government should initiate penal action against owners of Fair Price Shops who fail to distribute ration supplied under Public Distribution System to the eligible beneficiaries. They should ensure that the ration reach all the card holders assigned to a particular FPS, president of the taluk CPI(M), P R Suryanarayana said here recently. He was addressing the party workers who were staging a dharna demanding Right to Food.

Suryanarayana said that the Union and State governments should initiate steps to check the rise in prices of essential commodities.  Sky-rocketing prices have made life miserable for poor classes, he stated demanding fixation of minimum wages for workers of the unorganised sector too.
