A complaint has been lodged against the Bangalore University former registrar (evaluation) Prof R K Somashekar at the Jnanabharathi police station for fudging a student’s marks card.

According to the university officials, the complaint was filed after an inquiry found that Somashekar had used a student’s name to issue a marks card to another
person.

A senior police officer said, “A complaint was registered against R K Somashekar on March 30 and he was booked under section 420 IPC.

The complaint stated that in the year 2012-2013, the accused had used the registration number of an engineering student named Mohammed Peer to issue marks card to another person named Mohammed Bhatt, who was not registered as an engineering graduate.”

The police have asked the current Registrar (Evaluation) Prof Ninge Gowda to produce the required documents.

After the documents are scrutinised necessary action will be taken against the accused, said the police.
