JOIN USThe Malleswaram police have arrested a man who made away with pearls worth Rs 15 lakh belonging to a businessman.
Based on a tip-off, the police arrested Abdul Jabbar, 29, a resident of Koramangala, and recovered 56 pearls.
Recently, Rama Gowda had approached Mansoor Basha and asked him to help him in selling the pearls. Basha started looking for customers and Jabbar, Hussain and Farooq approached him, promising to buy the pearls for Rs 15 lakh. They struck a deal and took the pearls to check their authenticity, but never returned.
A worried Basha informed Gowda and they approached the Malleswaram police and registered a complaint. The police gathered information about the trio and managed to arrest Jabbar. The police said they were making efforts to trace the other suspects, based on the information provided by Jabbar.
