JOIN USPanchayat Raj Act stipulates the term of president and vice-president of Gram Panchayats at 30 months.
However, the incumbents are being changed in a span of six month to one year, they have stated in a memorandum submitted to the Member of Legislative Council, Nazir Ahmed, on Saturday.
The members have demanded to fix the term of the office-bearers at five years and implement 50 pc reservation for women in the Gram Panchayat elections to be held this year.
