Truck driver thrashed in road rage incidentx

In another incident of road rage in the capital, a mini-truck driver was thrashed by four men in north east Delhi’s Nand Nagri, police said.

The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Amar Sahi, who lives with family in north west Delhi’s Ashok Nagar. 

He told the policemen that the incident occurred when he was traveling from Ghazipur to Gokulpuri late on Monday.  

“Amar was near Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital when four men traveling in a Honda City car overtook the mini-truck,” said a police officer. 

They claimed that the mini-truck had scraped past their car.

Forced to stopThe driver of the car forced Amar to stop the mini-truck. The four occupants of the car then went to the driver’s cabin of the mini-truck and thrashed Amar.  Amar was punched in the face several times, says the police. “The accused later fled towards Durgapuri. We are probing the incident on the basis of the registration number of the car provided by Amar,” the officer added.  

Amar underwent medical examination at GTB Hospital and a case under section 325 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) of the Indian Penal Code was filed with Nand Nagri police station. 

Money missingAmar also told the police that he was carrying Rs 30,000 which was missing after the attack. The incident comes after three consecutive cases of road rage were reported in the past three days. 

Earlier, a 35-year-old businessman was thrashed brutally and his parents were misbehaved with by three drunken men when his car grazed their vehicle in outer Delhi’s Rohini on Sunday.
