Woman robbed in City ATM kiosk

A woman was robbed at knifepoint inside an unguarded ATM kiosk in south Delhi’s Jamia Nagar on Friday.

Noor Afreen told the police she was at a State Bank of India ATM kiosk when two men entered and overpowered her.

In her statement, Afreen said the men took her ATM card and withdrew Rs 10,000.
The incident, which took place at around 7 pm, was caught on CCTV cameras installed in the ATM kiosk.

“I was inside the ATM kiosk when the two men entered inside, claiming to be ATM technicians,” Afreen told Deccan Herald.

The two men then threatened her, but she resisted their demand to withdraw cash and hand it over to them. They then whipped out a knife and overpowered Afreen.

She claimed she was then forced to hand over her ATM card and reveal her PIN.

The men withdrew Rs 10,000 within minutes and left without making another transaction. She immediately raised an alarm to draw the attention of the locals, but the two men managed to flee.

Afreen said she regularly went to the ATM, and always found a security guard. However, the guard was not there when the incident occurred.
