Actor Ramesh Aravind has always attempted the impossible. He never ceases to amaze his fans with his exceptional body of work. His latest directorial is a bilingual Uthama Villain, which stars his close buddy Kamal Hassan who has also written the script for the film.

This will be his directorial debut in the Tamil film industry. The film, which is a bilingual, will be released in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously.

Uthama Villain has been shot completely in Bangalore and should be ready for release in three months.

The film is a family entertainer with loads of action sequences thrown in to keep the audience at the edge of its seat.

This project has kept Ramesh on his toes and he hasn’t really signed any other project.

“Kamal is an enormously talented actor and working with him in the past, and even on this project, has been a rewarding experience. He adds a lot of quality to the frame through his sheer talent. And people will get to see him in avatars he has never attempted before,” Ramesh tells Metrolife’

The film has a few veteran actors from the Tamil film industry and five heroines, including Malayalam actress Urvashi. Ramesh is adept at reading and writing Tamil and he soon hopes to direct more films in Tamil.

“I will work in the Kannada and Tamil film industry. I hope to make some realistic films in Tamil. I have readied two scripts in Kannada. One is a big budget, mass entertainer and the other, a love story. I’ve acted in most of the films for which I have written the script but here are two stories, which have to be done by somebody else,” he adds.

Ramesh says that he has been working almost everyday from March. “The film is based in two eras — the 21st century in which Kamal is a super star and the eighth century in which he is a folk artiste. All the five heroines are of a different age group and each has a substantial role to play. None of the roles overlap. It is as distinct as it can get,” he reasons.

Ramesh says that it is the script that inspired him to take up the challenge to direct the film.

“The story is a wonderful combination of sentiments, romance and comedy. And more than anything, I have enjoyed the spirit of working together,” he signs off
