Youth kills roommate for singing song

Pramod (20), a native of Kerala, was allegedly stabbed to death by his roommate Sanoop (21). The police said the two men were working for a builder and were staying at a rented place.

 On Tuesday, Sanoop was humming a song and cutting vegetables, when Pramod tried to irritate by singing another song. Sanoop turned around and ordered him to shut up. When Pramod continued, an angry Sanoop rushed towards Pramod, and the knife he was holding in his hand accidentally pierced Pramod’s torso. A profusely bleeding Pramod was taken to Baptist Hospital but later he succumbed to the injury.

Narcotics seized

The Special Investigation Squad of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) has arrested two persons and recovered narcotics worth Rs one crore and other valuables from their possession.

Umesh (34) and Mohan (37) of Ulsoor were nabbed when they were trying to sell cocaine and ganja to prospective customers near Race Course and Mayo Hall. One kilogram of cocaine and ganja as well as one car and two cell phones, all valued at Rs 1,04,05,000, were recovered from them.

During the investigation, the suspects told the police that they had been selling the banned substances at several places in the City. The High Grounds police have registered a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
