Man arrested for murdering 'police informer'

A man has been arrested for stabbing to death a 15-year-old boy in outer Delhi over suspicion that the victim was a police informer.

The suspects had even carried the victim’s body on a motorcycle for a few kilometers to safely dump it in a drain. They, however, had to abandon it outside the drain itself after it fell off the motorcycle on the way. The prime suspect in the case Aman, 22, was released from jail on bail in a theft case on April 9. The very same day he met three of his associates and told them that the victim Vipin Kumar Pandey had informed the police about him, which led to him being jailed. The four then hatched a plan to murder Pandey. They abducted him and brought him to a park in Mangolpuri where the four rained fist blows on him. Aman then stabbed Pandey in his abdomen, causing his death. When it came to disposing the body, they decided to carry it a few kilometers away to Ganda Nala in Vijay Vihar and dump it in the drain there.

“Aman and one of his associates sandwiched the body between them on the motorcycle and rode to Vijay Vihar. But as they were approaching the drain, their hurried approach led to the body falling off the motorcycle,” said police on Sunday.

The two suspects were forced to abandon the body there and escape as they sensed some people approaching. Police, meanwhile, received a call around the same time about a body lying at the spot. It went unidentified for two days before Pandey’s father identified the body soon after he filed a missing complaint on April 12. Meanwhile, Aman and his associates had returned to the spot to pick the body and dump it into the drain. They, however, were forced to retreat on finding the police team there.

Aman’s associate Jitender who rode the motorcycle carrying Pandey was arrested on Saturday after a crime branch team was tipped-off about his arrival at a bus stop in Mangolpuri.
