Two students end lives after failing in PUC

In separate cases, two students committed suicide after they failed the second PUC examination, the results of which was announced on Monday.

According to the police, Manu (18) a Science student from the Government PU College, Venkataiahanachatra in Chamarajanagar taluk jumped into the Chikkahole reservoir and drowned. He had failed Mathematics. Fire and emergency services personnel along with the police are searching for the body. The Ramasamudra police have registered a case.

In another case reported from Hunsur town in Mysuru district, a 17-year-old girl hanged herself at her house. A resident of Ontepalya Bore Layout, Shruti was a student of the Government Women’s College in the town. She was the daughter of Subramanya and Rukmini.

She had failed in Economics, Sociology and Political Science. She took the extreme step when nobody was at home, said the police. She wrote a short suicide note on the wall that read – ‘Phelagiddene Sorry’ (I have failed, sorry). Hunsur MLA H P Manjunath visited the spot. The town police have registered a case.
