Congress gears up for BBMP elections

Last Updated 19 May 2015, 19:25 IST

The Congress party convened a meeting on Tuesday to discuss how to take on the BJP and face the ensuing BBMP elections.

The party is said to have decided to list out the reported irregularities committed by the BJP when it headed the civic body. City leaders including ministers Ramalinga Reddy, Dinesh Gundu Rao, B L Shankar among others, attended the meeting.

Listing misdeeds
It was decided that a committee headed by former mayor P R Ramesh should take up the exercise of listing the misdeeds of the BJP regime as the same could serve as campaign material to take on the saffron party. Shankar asked the party workers to be articulate when it comes to highlighting the ommissions and commissions of the BJP.

The party also told the workers to take up the ongoing membership drive seriously.
The BBMP elections may be held either by July-end or August beginning, party sources said.
