Jnana Sangama portal  for State varsities

The Karnataka Higher Education Council launched the Jnana Sangama initiative that brings a cloud-based portal to universities in the State.

This is a part of the State government's plans under the Karnataka Virtual University and offers the best text, presentation, audio and videos to the various departments.

Speaking on the occasion, R V Deshpande, Higher Education and  Tourism Minister said, “Today Karnataka is re-establishing its leadership in IT education that started way back in early 90s. Karnataka students will benefit by having free access to high quality content on a 24x7 basis and get opportunities for high paying, globally valid jobs. Karnataka based IT industry will benefit by having access to a well-trained workforce.”

The content will be packaged as a MOOC (Massively Online Open Courseware) that can be accessed freely from anywhere using any device. IIIT, Bangalore will provide technical mentorship to universities wanting to benefit from the Jnana Sangama.
