Sharang MS, a student of National Public School, Rajajinagar, who has secured 96.8 per cent in the CBSE 12th standard examination, is a shining example of systematic preparation. With a score of 99 per cent in Mathematics, Sharang attributes this success to his school.

“The faculty at NPS is excellent and supported us by giving us tests and revision courses that we needed for the preparation. The school started preparing us for 12th standard from March last year, which helped me a lot. I also pursued several online courses which gave me a solid foundation in Physics and Mathematics. I was not stressed during my examinations but a little nervous before results.”

A devoted chess player, he says that he couldn’t practise chess this year as he had to concentrate on his exams. About his future plans, he explains, “I am interested in Computer Science and curious about fields like machine learning and artificial intelligence. I also answered the IIT-JEE advanced paper recently and am waiting for the results.”

He advises students who are currently in their 12th standard to study regularly and be thorough with the fundamental concepts.

His father, Sriramu MS, says, “The academic aspect in his school is very strong. He didn’t take coaching classes. He is also a KVPY scholar and wants to contribute to the field of science.”

He adds, “As a parent, I would not call what we did as a ‘sacrifice’ as it was a pleasure to support him throughout the year. I want him to study hard and contribute innovatively to the field of science. He shows intellectual capacity as well as creative streaks. I want him to define and develop new concepts and be creative in his work.”
