Laxman ruled out of 2nd Test

Last Updated 21 January 2010, 18:02 IST

“Laxman will not play in the second Test and he will return home tomorrow,” team India manager Arshad Ayub said.

The Hyderabadi stylist injured a finger on his left hand while attempting to hold on to a catch offered by Shahriar Nafees on Wednesday evening. Laxman had left the field immediately. Ayub added that there would not be any replacement for Laxman, who needed ten stitches on his finger.

He said pacer S Sreesanth, who left the field due to a hamstring injury, was under observation. “Sreesanth has suffered a minor hamstring strain. But it is too early to fix the damage,” Ayub said.
