A 49-year-old senior accountant of Vajreshwari Combines, a film production company owned by Rajkumar family, committed suicide by hanging himself at a lodge in Cottonpet.
The victim Umesh Kotekar, 49, a native of Udupi, was staying at Nagasandra in Thyagarajnagar.
The victim’s family members stated in a complaint that actor Raghavendra Rajkumar and his wife Mangala falsely accused him of misusing Rs 3 crore and kept harassing him. A few employees of Vajreshwari Combines had taken away some files from his house. Umesh killed himself as he could no longer bear the harassment, they alleged in the complaint.
The police registered a case under IPC Section 306 (abetment of suicide) against Raghavendra Rajkumar and Mangala based on the complaint.
