Decision on Sreesanth, Laxman's fitness on Saturday

Laxman was earlier ruled out of the next match due to a hand injury but the team management has given the middle-order batsman more time to recover and a final decision will be taken on Saturday.

Sreesanth, who suffered a hamstring strain on the final day of the first Test which India won by 113 runs, underwent an MRI scan here today and his fitness will also be assessed  on Saturday.

"Sreesanth had an MRI today but we are not in a condition to say anything on the status of his injury. We will see tomorrow," administrative manager Arshad Ayub said.Laxman, who injured the webbing between his thumb and fingers while attempting a catch in the first Test, was to go back home on Friday but is staying back.

"We have decided to wait till tomorrow in his case also," Ayub said.

Meanwhile, regular skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who sat out of the first Test due to a back spasm, is expected to return to the side for the second Test.

Spin spearhead Harbhajan Singh has also recovered from a stiff neck but he would face stiff competition from the in-form Amit Mishra to find a place in the final XI.
The Indian team cancelled its training session and also took some time off to attend a dinner hosted by the Indian High Commission here
