In a show of support for the beleaguered party colleague Revanth Reddy, the entire Andhra Pradesh cabinet led by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu attended his daughter’s engagement ceremony.

Reddy, main accused in the cash-for-vote scandal in Telangana, was granted 12-hour interim bail on Wednesday by ACB special court judge Lakshmipathi to attend his only daughter Nymisha Reddy’s engagement.

Naidu, his cabinet colleagues and TDP leaders from both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana were present at a convention centre in the city owned by actor A Nagarjuna.
Naidu and wife N Bhuvaneshwari spent nearly half hour at the venue, while his son Nara Lokesh and wife Brahmani also attended the function.

Other than the formal introduction of the bride and the groom, Revanth and Naidu did not speak during the latter’s presence at the venue.

Telangana Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy and senior leaders Gutta Sukhender Reddy and Palwai Govardhan Reddy also attended the function.

The flamboyant and jovial Revanth Reddy kept a low profile, confining himself to performing the rituals in the presence of police officials who followed his every move.

While granting bail to the legislator, the ACB court had cautioned him not to speak to the media or discuss the case with anyone.  Soon after the ceremony was over, Revanth was escorted back to the Cherlapalli jail, nearly an hour before the allotted time of 6 pm.
