District hospital will be upgraded further: C T Ravi

Ravi visited Araluguppe Mallegowda district hospital on Wednesday and had a look at the various facilities and functioning of the hospital staff.

Later addressing the reporters he said that six dialysis equipment have been installed at the hospital at a cost of Rs 70 lakh and the laboratory has been upgraded at a cost of Rs 30 lakh.

An equipment needed for orthopedic surgery has been installed at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.

Scanning machine has been replaced by a doppler scanning machine at a cost of Rs 15 lakh. Tele medicine method has already been started in the hospital to take guidance from expert surgeons from reputed hospitals like Narayana Hridayalaya, Jayadeva
Hridrogi Samsthe, St John’s Hospital with regard to heart and kidney related cases.

A sum of Rs 3 lakh has been spent for building a separate ward for senior citizens and other equipment needed in the wards. ART centre for treatment of Aids has been set up.

District Surgeon O G Prakash informed that of the total posts allotted for the hospital, 8 surgeons, 12 nurses, 8 senior nurses, 2 Nephrologists, 2 technicians ad 40 posts of D group workers are vacant.
