Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader said the State had no objection to the Union government’s decision to observe Yoga Day.

Speaking after inaugurating a regional workshop on National Tobacco Prevention, in the City on Thursday, he said yoga was just a form of exercise and it should not be given a political or religious twist.

“The report given by a private laboratory in Bengaluru indicates that Maggi noodles samples contain 0.053 grams of MSG (mono sodium glutamate). To get it confirmed, we have written to the Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI) in Mysuru. In case it refuses to test the samples, we will approach the laboratory in West Bengal,” he said.

Khader said the government had requested the CFTRI to submit its report at the earliest in the interest of the public.
