Court extends TDP MLA Revanth's remand

Last Updated 15 June 2015, 19:43 IST

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) special court here extended the remand of tainted Telangana TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy and two others until June 29.

Reddy, Bishop Harry Sebastian and R Uday Simha were produced before the special court, where the ACB filed a memo asking for time to investigate the cash-for-vote scandal.

The agency also said it would submit the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) analysis on the tapes purportedly containing the voice of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and determine whether if they were tampered with.

Meanwhile, Revanth and the two other accused have moved the Hyderabad High Court for bail saying the ACB had completed its interrogation and they have nothing more to say.

The court had earlier rejected Revanth’s bail plea, allowing him a 12-hour interim bail to attend his daughter’s betrothal.

On May 31, Revanth Reddy and two others were caught red-handed paying Rs 50 lakh bribe money to TRS legislator Elvis Stephenson to assure his vote for the TDP nominee in the Telangana Council elections.
