REVA University recently celebrated its farewell programme for REVA Institute of Technology and Management graduating students at Rukmini Knowledge Park. Every year since 2008, REVA University has been conducting this graduation day, named ‘Shubha Vidaaya’, which means ‘an auspicious adieu’, in order to have an ever-lasting bond with the graduating students and wish them good luck for their future.

The programme was presided over by Chancellor Dr P Shyama Raju and the chief guest of the function was Padma Vibhushan Dr K Kasturirangan. ‘Shubha Vidaaya-2015’ was a special  and memorable day for the students and their parents. On this occasion, a toast was raised by a junior student. Many parents also spoke on the occasion, appreciating the care taken by the institution for the all-round growth of the wards.

The university recognised and rewarded the achievements of the students in different streams and categories. ‘The Best Outgoing Student’ award was given to Lakshmi BG from the Mechanical department under UG category and Anupama R of ECE (MTech) department under the PG category. Also the ‘Chairman’s Appreciation Award’ was given to various students for their contribution in areas like sports, academics, leadership and dedication.

The other highlights of the function were the oath-taking ceremony and the memento presentation. The graduating students were presented with a metallic bust of Sir M Visveswaraiah as a token of affection and good wishes.

Dr K Kasturirangan appreciated the growth of the university and the fact that it imparts quality education. He also emphasised that the graduating students should start their own enterprise to build the nation. He added that many Indians are doing very well abroad and holding key positions in many multinational companies.

Dr P Shyama Raju advised the students to be focussed in life and give importance to time. He wished all the outgoing students the very best of luck while Dr M Dhanamjay proposed the formal vote of thanks.
