Two women injured in elephant attack

Two women were today injured at the Bannerghatta Biological Park here when a wild elephant attacked them while they were working, officials said.

The victims were carrying out the work of asphalting the road in the safari area when the pachyderm attacked them, park officials said.

The contractor had deployed workers in the forest area of Bannerghatta Biological Park adjacent to Bannerghatta National Park, they said.

They were immediately shifted to Sanjay Gandhi hospital here for further treatment, Executive Director of the Park Range Gowda said.
