Family of missing Coast guard plane pilot still hopeful

Despite chances being bleak for the survival of the three crew members of the missing Dornier aircraft, Deepa Lakshmi is still confident that her husband Subash Suresh, one of the pilots of the ill-fated flight, will be back.

Even her neighours are still hoping that the Indian Coast Guard (ICG) rescue team will locate the Dornier and ensure the safe return of the crew.

"I am very confident that my husband will back. Our divine intervention will not go waste. Moreover, he is also a good pilot", Deepa, who is a mother of their one-year-old son, said.

Deepa, who is a resident of Chennai, recollects Subash's dream that he wants to make is son as pilot. "It will happen", she said. Subash's friends have come here to give Deepa a much needed moral support since the situation of survival of the crew members looks grim with ISG unable to garner any concrete information.

Deepa didn’t have a Twitter account till Monday morning. But she opened one, immediately and her first tweet was addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “@PMOIndia 8 days since my husband Subash Suresh, pilot of CG791 is missing. Request your attention #FindSubash”

The tweet attracted the attention of the people and Deepa Lakshmi got inundated response to her postings. Confident of her husband's return (Subash come home back...We are waiting for you..' reads the bio of the Twitter account'), Deepa wants the media to keep the spotlight on the story, and thereby ensure that search operations are done at full swing.

Subash's family members too have started a Facebook account and those from the families of other missing pilots too are not far behind. In addition, the Defence Ministry has created a WhatsApp account for these family members to keep them regularly posted about any occuring developments in search operations.

Meanwhile, the search for the Dornier aircraft continued for the eighth day with no confirmation of its loacation.
