Reckless driving claims two lives

Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a motorbike and a BMTC bus near the service road in Hunsmaranahalli, Yelahanka, on Tuesday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Naveen Rao, 20, a labourer, and Tirupathi, 15, who was riding pillion with Rao. Both were neighbours and residents of Bharathinagar. Tirupathi was a Class 9 student

Rao and Tirupathi were going on a personal errand. A speeding BMTC bus plying from Vidyanagar Cross to the City Market collided with the bike, killing Rao on the spot. Passersby rushed Tirupathi to hospital where he was declared brought dead. The police have arrested the driver  and seized the bus.

House looted
A few unidentified miscreants broke into a house when the owners were out of station and made away with gold and silver ornaments in JP Nagar.

 Deshmukh, a businessman, and his family went out of station for a week. When they returned, they found the main door and a cupboard inside broken open. About 40 gram of gold and two kilogram of silver were missing, said Deshmukh in his complaint.The complainant is yet to calculate the cash that is also missing.
